It started with a dream—a dream of two pine trees with a dead branch fallen between them along the jogging path she often frequented, but when Megan Reyes is driven to seek out the place in reality to rid herself of what was quickly becoming an obsession, instead of the big fat nothing she expects to find, she discovers more than she bargains for when she steps between the pines and is confronted by a very familiar pointy-eared man she last saw in her dreams.

He and his brother have been waiting for her, and what they want will test how far she is willing to go to escape the dullness of her everyday life just for the chance to spice things up.

This novella contains a ménage scene and is intended for mature readers. It is set in the aftermath of the events chronicled in Claimed by the Elven King and the first in a two-part story arc.

This is another story about the Elven world that C. Rayne has built from the books about the Elven King. In this particular world, Elven women are barren, and the men are forced to look to humans to have children. The one major rule is that they cannot use any magic to coerce the human woman to chose them - she must make the decision with a clear head and lots of thought. Megan Reyes has been dreaming about sitting on a bank with two brothers having conversations about joining their world for 7 days. In the end, she physically finds the portal while jogging, and finds out that those dreams and discussions have been real. She is now faced with a choice - stay a human and have her memories removed or join the Elven world and become a bed partner to both brothers.

Really quite a lot was wrong with this novella of 88 pages. Most of the book was a rehash of the Elven King series - explaining the elves, their trouble having children, their king, their magic, etc. I realize that new readers may need filled in more, but the author is going to have to find a way to catch new readers up to date.

The plot was developed in a cumbersome manner. Megan remembered each morning that she dreamed, but couldn't remember the conversations, so when she falls through the portal the brothers have to explain it all over again. What was the point? Either have Megan find the portal and talk to the brothers or remember the dreams and make a decision. Doing both was a waste of words and story.

Megan committed the cardinal sin in romance by being a character that was hard to like. She had major major issues with having children, but instead of resolving this, she decides to just let time change her mind. Really? What if five years from now she still doesn't want kids? That's why she's there, right? What if she gets pregnant the first night? Megan also finds out that one of the brothers has a wife, who he says is okay with this. Really? If it was me, this is critical, and I'm requesting a meeting with this woman and sitting her down and finding out for myself what her attitude is like.

The book ended on a cliffhanger, because evidently the author is making a series out of Megan, as she did the Elven King. I thoroughly enjoyed the Elven King series. While I felt the series had a few drawbacks, there was a good story there with likable characters. Not so with the Elven Brothers - all fluff and very little substance.

Not for me
Not my type of book
Left me wanting. Not a romantic love story.
I have really enjoyed this unique storyline regarding the fae realm. There are some really unique twists in this book so do not miss out!
Loved it...need more...soon!
Awesome series
I really enjoyed this book. Really great "good part" when they tried out the more intimate part of their future living arrangement. We could all use more "good parts" in our lives!
The dilemma of wives and human wives is an interesting scenario. The characters are engaging and you find yourself dying to know how it will all work out.
